Meet the team

Meet Charlie Our Childcare assistant

Charlie is our lovely childcare assistant here at Emi’s Childcare and brings with her a wealth of experience working with children of different ages.

Her childcare journey began in a nursery, where she completed her Level 2 Childcare Apprenticeship. When the nursery later closed, Charlie continued caring for some of the families she had built relationships with through nannying, alongside babysitting and working bank hours in other childcare settings.

After having her two boys, Charlie created her own children’s clothing brand, inspired by the beautiful Cornish coast. Running the business from home allowed her to continue working creatively while also being there for her boys as they grew.

Charlie later returned to childcare, working within a childminding setting and gaining even more hands-on experience in a smaller, home-from-home environment.

We’re now delighted to have Charlie as part of the Emi’s Childcare family. She brings a kind, caring and relaxed approach, understands just how important it is for children to feel safe, happy and supported, and fits perfectly with our love of outdoor play, adventure and allowing children to simply enjoy being children.

Charlie is a wonderful addition to our team, and we’re so excited for all the adventures ahead! 🌿🤍

Meet Jonathan (Jonpon) Childcare assistant and Business partner

Before joining Emi’s Childcare, I spent many years working in hospitality as a restaurant and bar manager in England before moving to Lanzarote, where I worked for a Danish company and enjoyed a life of sunshine, sea and surf.

I later moved to Denmark, where I became a restaurant owner and welcomed my two daughters, Freya and Ella. My years living and parenting in Denmark gave me something very special that I now bring to Emi’s Childcare — Hygge.

Hygge (pronounced “hoo-gah”) is all about warmth, comfort, safety and togetherness. It means slowing down, enjoying the simple moments and creating a calm, cosy environment where people feel completely at home.

After returning to Cornwall, I met Emily, and for years we talked about working together and building something special with Emi’s Childcare. Now that dream has finally become a reality.

I am currently completing further training around bringing Hygge into our setting, combining it with outdoor adventures, nature, play and plenty of laughter.

For me, Emi’s is much more than a business — it is something Emily and I have dreamed about creating together for years.

A little bit of Cornwall, a little bit of Denmark, and a whole lot of Hygge. 🌿🤍

Meet Emily Ofsted registered child minder and mother of Emi’s

Emily is the heart behind Emi’s Childcare and has spent around 30 years working in childcare, building a lifetime of knowledge, experience and passion for helping children grow and flourish.

Childcare has always been a huge part of Emily’s life. She grew up surrounded by it at Promised Land, the childcare setting run by her mum, Sian Roberson. Sian achieved an Outstanding Ofsted judgement and passed on her experience, values and love of childcare to Emily, teaching her so much of what she knows today.

Over the years, Emily has continued to develop the family business and make it her own, while keeping those same strong foundations at its heart — providing children with a safe, loving and nurturing environment where they can feel at home, explore freely and enjoy their childhood.

Emily believes children learn best through play, nature, creativity and real-life experiences. She loves seeing their personalities develop, watching friendships grow and helping every child feel confident, secure and valued.

For Emily, Emi’s Childcare is much more than a business. It is something she has grown up with, something she truly loves, and a family tradition she is incredibly proud to carry forward.

Her dream is to continue building a setting that children are excited to come to every day — somewhere full of laughter, adventures, muddy boots, cuddles and happy memories.
